Following the death of his master, Hamato Yoshi, his discovery of the four baby turtles and their subsequent mutations, Splinter finds that with the exponential development of his brain, the many years of repeated Ninjutsu stimuli now dominates his new human-like intellect. Additionally, Splinter uses the diaries and audio recordings left behind by Yoshi to better understand the art of Ninjutsu and his personal philosophies -- this knowledge later allows him to train his four young, turtle disciples in Yoshi’s honor. Now, as both master and father, Splinter’s quest is to clean up New York, give the turtles a place and a sense of purpose in the world, and see to it that his master’s legacy is never forgotten.
